The Amish shop is locally owned and operated by the Dennis and Lisa Gensic family, who have also owned Bedland and Bedland Kids for 36 years. Disappointed in the national trend toward lower and cheaper quality in the furniture industry and most all other consumer products, Dennis decided to make available furniture the way it used to be and should be built. “There was a time when families would spend several years furnishing their home with quality pieces as they could afford them. When they were finished they never had to replace them.” Now it seems the norm that many people want to buy everything at once. They sacrifice quality and end up having to replace things over and over which becomes very expensive. If they can’t afford to replace their mistakes they end up having to live with things that they don’t like or enjoy.
